A new dead head born
Brought a good friend to the show. When it comes to this music he just kind of shrugs. Had pit tickets and after some pre-show folly with Lucy proceeded into this face melter. Really blew his fucking mind and mine for that matter. They are light years ahead of when I saw them in 2015.
Highlight for me was drums space into NSB. A first set full of chestnuts this band can still silence the naysayers. Bob seems to have the determination to hold onto the gestalt of the live jam, the vibe was like a 90's show at Cal Expo love and light and serious partying in some serious heat. Somehow this music is made for the outdoors. The music energy is high octane the whole way through even on the bring it down songs like loser &I lost sailor. Must have this one, all this config needs is to get a little stronger on the closers. I got my money worth from set 1. An awesome first half of set 2 was just gravy.
What a scorcher! Awesome performance. Easy Wind was a highlight for me.
You're welcome, Joe! Thanks for all your efforts keeping things properly archived for Dead & Company.
Set 1 of Shoreline (with these Peluso microphones) is ready and should be up soon.
